Pumps are used in scrubbing systems to circulate, inject and filter chemical solutions to remove contaminants from air, gas and fumes in Air and Gas Treatment processes. Scrubbing systems typically use chemical solutions to react with and absorb contaminants, such as acid gases, particulates, and organic compounds, from the gas stream. Pumps are used to circulate the chemical solutions through the scrubber and provide contact time between the gas and the liquid phase. Chemical transfer pumps are also used for the transfer of chemicals, such as acids or alkalis, which are used in the treatment of exhaust gases from industrial processes.
